The best germ free humidifier we love!

The best germ free humidifier we love!

As the temperatures drop and the heat is on the air in the house may be dry. I know some homes have built-in humidifiers that go with the furnace. Our system does not so I would like to share with you my favorite room humidifier.

When Stanley was a baby, we had one of those cute, colored humidifiers on our registry. We ended up getting one that was blue that went with his decor. It had the water in the top and you had to soak it in vinegar to get the scum/germs off. It worked well, but cleaning it was so, so, so, painful. Plus, after you soaked the parts that the water touched, you ended up having to clean the corners with a cotton swab. A pain in the bottom. We used it for that winter and threw it away that spring. I felt like I never got it really clean.

Well, the next winter I did some research and found a great one I want to share with you - the Honeywell Germ Free Cool Mist humidifier. This one is amazing. The parts that touch the water can all be put in the dishwasher. Amazing! It is so easy to take those parts, shove them in the dishwasher, hit the sanitize cycle button and done! We usually run ours every five days or so and flip the filter every night. It does have a filter that you replace about once a month. We do our filters on Amazon’s subscribe-and-save so they are delivered monthly during the winter months. Then we stop getting them when it warms up and we put the humidifier away for the spring and summer.

This humidifier is a little bit pricey when compared to the cute other ones, but it really is worth it. I sleep better at night knowing the humidifier is completely germ-free and you should too. Save your time in cleaning the cheaper ones and thank me later.
